Dr. Hobbins graduated
from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend,
Indiana with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and
Pre-Professional Studies in 2003. He received his
medical school training at Des Moines University
College of Osteopathic Medicine, Des Moines, Iowa,
receiving his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in
2008. He is currently completing his residency
in Family Medicine at Memorial Hospital, South
Bend, Indiana.
Dr. Hobbins is thrilled to be serving
as a Resident Medical Editor for the exciting new
Journal of Prolotherapy. His first true exposure
to Prolotherapy was as an eager medical student
rotating under Ross Hauser, M.D., of Caring Medical
and Rehabilitation Services in Oak Park, IL, in
the spring of 2008. It was here that he was exposed
to the technique of Prolotherapy, as well as the
rapidly growing body of literature substantiating
this treatment for pain resulting from soft tissue
injuries.
Dr. Hobbins states, “It is an exhilarating
feeling to be drawn so powerfully to a field of
work and study, and I hope to share this with the
readers of the J.O.P. by reviewing articles and
submitting writings from the perspective of an
Osteopathic Resident Physician on the front-lines
of Medical Education.”
